12: the christmas tree

Yesterday we set up our Christmas tree and put up our decorations (except the lights outside). I know it's on the early side for Christmas decor, but since Jacob will be deployed next Christmas, we wanted to make sure to thoroughly enjoy the holiday season this year!

At this point they were getting tired of taking pictures.

Christopher wanted a picture by himself before we decorated the tree.

And then Nick wanted one.

And Lexie posed for about 20.

After we posed for pictures, it was time to start decorating the Christmas tree. We unwrapped all of the ornaments and the kids had fun talking about theirs- they each get an ornament from us and Grandma and Grandpa every year and then we get family ones on our vacations.

And hanging it on the tree.

Christopher loved his new alligator ornament from Myrtle Beach this year.

Ben was more interested in playing with the ornaments than actually hanging them.

Once you add the girl in, chaos ensues!

The adult drink of choice while decorating the tree. It complimented the Frank Sinatra Christmas music nicely!

Jacob puts the star on the tree every year- and this year we didn't even need a ladder!
