downtown disney, the polynesian, and port orleans riverside

Normally when we go to Orlando it's to do a week at Disney World and this was the first time we went down just for a Disney party.  Since we weren't trying to cram in as many theme park days as possible, we were able to enjoy some of the non-park aspects of the Disney World Resort, too.
earl of sandwich
Lunch at Earl of Sandwich in Disney Springs is one of our favorites!

pin trading
The kids had fun trading pins at Disney's Pin Traders.

princesses
We didn't meet any princesses at Magic Kingdom this time so Lexie wanted to get her picture taken with the ones outside of the World of Disney.

dole whip
Rather than spending valuable park time getting dole whips (and floats), we made our way to the Polynesian to get them from the Pineapple Lanai.

boatwrights
And we tried out a new (to us) restaurant for dinner: Boatwright's Dining Hall at the Port Orleans Riverside.  The kids and I all enjoyed the jambalaya and Jacob LOVED the andouille crusted catfish, but the highlight of the meal (for Ben at least!) was the kid's create your own sundae for dessert!  While we love going back to our favorite places every time we're at WDW, it's fun to try out new places, too, and I have a feeling Boatwright's will be somewhere we go again!
