road trip day sixteen: hanging out and ventura harbor

playtime at great grandma and grandpa's
The last time we saw Great Grandma and Great Grandpa was before we moved to North Carolina (six years ago!) so we had a great time hanging out with them and catching up on all that happened since then.  Ellie LOVED their window seat and spent a lot of time looking out the window-- especially when her siblings were playing out front!

dinner at the harbor
That evening, we went to the Ventura Harbor with the great grandparents and Truck Grandpa for a delicious dinner of fish and chips at Andria's.

After eating, we decided to walk around the harbor and check out the boats and the cute little shops.

explosive girl
Ellie had the WORST explosive diaper of her life and I didn't have a change of clothes for her so she got to spend the rest of the evening wearing her jacket and mine and confined to the stroller.  Luckily it didn't seem to affect her mood!

greetings
Greetings from Ventura Harbor!!

from Ventura Harbor!
The kids (and Truck Grandpa!!) thought it was hilarious to put their faces in the hole meant for the other gender!

the beach
We crossed the street from the Harbor and went down to the beach so that the kids could dip their toes in the Pacific Ocean.  It was foggy and chilly so we told them not to get too wet but it didn't stop them from trying to go out as far as they could.

Beach fun :)  We left Ellie in the parking lot with Great Grandpa since she didn't have any clothes and it would have been too hard to push the stroller on the sand.  They had a great time chatting while we played!

  1. Love the sand pic! How do you get rid of the foot prints you make while making it? ;-)

    1. Thanks! I used a stick and reached as far as I could so that I didn't get any foot prints. :)
