fort pickens and peg leg pete's

After getting cleaned up from our day at the beach, we drove over to Fort Pickens, one of four forts built in the 1800s to protect Pensacola Bay.

We did a self-guided tour through the fort but we did it REALLY quickly since there were ants EVERYWHERE.

Fort Pickens is known for being one of only four forts in the South that was never occupied by Confederate forces during the Civil War.

After quickly exploring the fort, we headed to Peg Leg Pete's for a delicious dinner and fun time.
